CENTAURUS-A Taps DARKANE Singer LAWRENCE MACKRORY For Second Album
January 22, 2014German technical death metallers CENTAURUS-A have recruited Lawrence Mackrory (DARKANE, F.K.Ü., SCARVE) to sing on their second album. The CD is currently being recorded at Dugout Studios in Uppsala, Sweden with producer Daniel Bergstrand (MESHUGGAH, IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR).
Says CENTAURUS-A: "Lawrence is right now recording the vocals and will make it a beast of an album!
"We're stoked to have him on board as session singer for the recordings!"
Adds Mackrory: "[The new CENTAURUS-A material is] very brutal, very technical and very, very good."
CENTAURUS-A's debut album, "Side Effects Expected", was released in 2009 via Listenable Records. The CD was described as "a collection of rapid and savagely melodic death metal" which was recorded with producer Jacob Hansen (RAUNCHY, INVOCATOR) at Hansen studio in Ribe, Denmark.
CENTAURUS-A got its name from a galaxy. The band said, "It is one of the most interesting and peculiar galaxies in the sky, and is a strong source of radio radiation (therefore the designation Centaurus A); it is actually the nearest radio galaxy. Centaurus A galaxy has swallowed another galaxy similar to ours about 2 billion years ago."
The band was formed in 2000 and released three demos prior to signing with Listenable: "Last Step Line" (2000),"Nimbus" (2001) and "Narcotic" (2003).
